Aroma is deep and inviting, nice smoke, smooth, rich, some sweetness. The smoke seems a bit musty for lack of a better word. The taste is good, seems richer and more buttery than other Lagavulin Scotch, but the smoke seems more like Johnnie Walker Black, where it's a bit ashy and dusty. A dash of water seems to tone down the sweetness and brings out the ash a bit more, I think it's better straight. I could see some people enjoying this, but for me it feels like a step back a little, rated 3.0/5.0
