Day 4 of 24 Days of Whisk(e)y ...Hump Day! Today we have Talisker 10 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky coming in at 45.8% ABV. I have not tried this one before, so I've been looking forward to this. It's in the same price range as Lagavulin 8 / Ardbeg 10 and I was wanting to see how it compares.
You get some aroma of smoke and peat, the taste is peaty and smoky, but then some pretty strong pepper kicks in and lingers. Enjoyable and certainly different than Ardbeg or Lagavulin. If pepper isn't your thing - stay clear! For me this is a step back from Ardbeg 10, but not by much. 3.5/5.0
