Day 14... rainy Saturday in the Portland area. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer, we'll see! Today we have Glen Garioch Single Malt Scotch 1797 Founder's Reserve, coming in at 48% ABV. This was on sale at the local booze store 1 mile from my house, so I bought a bottle. Is it any good?
The aroma is nice, sweetness and some spice come through. The taste seems to have some honey to me, a bit of burn though as well. There is no age statement for this, so I have no idea how long it has aged, but maybe it's a bit too young. Water seems to bring out some wood flavor for me and tames the burn somewhat - might be the way to go. Rated 2.75/5.0
