Day 9 of 12 Days of Whisk(e)y. This day ... is a great day... a Lagavulin Day (: Oh, and it's Friday of a 4 day weekend too. Today we have the 2018 Limited Release Lagavulin 12 Year Single Malt Cask Strength (57.8% 115.6 Proof). I've been looking forward to this one - and it delivers.
Nice smoke aroma on this one. Taste is very nice, with the Lagavulin expected peat and smoke, with some subtle fruit/sweetness ... just a lot of full flavor that lingers and lingers. A splash of water brings down the strength a bit, but still is very bold. Best one of the bunch so far, 4.5/5.0
