Day 8 of 12 Days of Whisk(e)y. For today, we have The Ileach Islay Single Malt Cask Strength Scotch Whisky (58%, 116 Proof). Nice smoke and peat aroma, with some expected alcohol too as this is 116 proof. I purchased this blind/no knowledge from the UK when I was buying some other things and it looked interesting.
Smoke, peat and spice in the flavor, nice warmth too. A splash of water tames things down and brings out some sweetness as well, toffee/caramel perhaps. This is quite good, but not something I would drink often due to the high proof. 4.0/5.0
